I am a 28 years old man, and recently realised that my fitness levels have deteorated. Two weeks ago, I went to a wedding. I bought a new suit for the wedding, and to my disbelief, my trousers had a 38 inch waste. The week before the wedding I was at a friends house and when I was in the bathroom I stepped onto the weighing scales. Again to my disbelief, I nearly touched 100kgs. I was 99kgs and had a 38 inch waste. Uh oh, time to do something about this.
Since the wedding, I have changed my diet. I have cut out most of my junk food, but still allow myself the odd indulgence. My aim is to drop to 80kgs within the next 100 days.
Today I bought myself a weighing scales, and my current weight is 96.4 kgs. My balanced diet has already started to pay dividents. Down 3kgs!
Due to work, and study commitments, I am not in a position to go to the gym. I used to go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week to take classes, and really enjoyed it. I haven’t been to the gym for over a year, but I never cancelled my membership, so I have paid them nearly €1,000 without actually entering the place! I am going to phone them in the morning and cancel my membership.
At the weekend I ordered a Power Plate. It is due to arrive later this week. The Power Plate is an exercise machine that consists of a vibrating platform you stand on and do light stretches and squats on. You can use it as little as three times per week. The company that produce the Power Plate claim that a 15 minute session on the Power Plate is equivalent to a 60 minute workout at the gym. I had read about the Power Plate in the past, but on Saturday I saw it in a store and gave it a go. It was pretty good. I didn’t buy it there and then, but on Sunday after doing some more research into it, I decided to purchase the entry level My3 Power Plate. It costs €2,000, which is a considerable amount, but if it helps me to achieve my goal, it will be worth it.
The Power Plate alone will not get me to my goal, but my new balanced diet, a regular cardio workout and the Power Plate will hopefully get me to get me to my goal.
I intend to have daily updates on this blog and I am using it as an incentive to get me to my target of 80kgs.
Well, 100 days and 16.4kgs to go, thats it from me for today.
