Day 7

94.7

This mornings weigh in is good! I am down to 94.7kgs. Thats over 1/2 a kg since yesterday! I think that must be due to eating so late on Saturday night. Fingers crossed I will get down below 94.6kgs tomorrow, and that will mean I am down 1kg in the first week.

I am still on track with the healthy eating. I did have a desert yesterday afternoon, but I am trying to cut out all of the unhealthy snacks throughout the day. I still intend to eat like a normal person!

The Power Plate is going well too. I haven’t been to the Power Plate centre to get a training plan yet, so I am working on my own workouts, rather than a specific plan. I hope to go there this week and let them give me a more structured workout plan.

I am out meeting a customer today, but it is not a lunch meetings, so I intend to bring a packed lunch with me and eat it on the way. I have to drive about two hours to the meeting, so I will stop at some stage and have a bite to eat in each direction.

At the moment I am using will power to get me to my goal. I am thinking about setting up some kind or a reward sysem with milestones to keep myself focused. I am not sure if I need it, but I might set my self a few milestone goals, and reward my self!

Day 6

95.3 kgs

This challenge is a real roller coaster. One day you are down .4kgs, then next day you are right back up! Yesterday morning I was down to 94.9kgs. Today and I am back up to 95.3kgs. It is weird! Yesterday was a pretty hard day work wise, and although I ate all the right stuff, there was a long delay between meals, and I didn’t eat my dinner until after 9pm. I went to a fish restaurant, and when the girl came around with the specials she said they had a sirloin steak special, so I went with that. It was awesome, and probably assisted in my .4kg increase this morning. I did have a good workout on the Power Plate yesterday, and today I will have a day away from the Power Plate. Hopefully tomorrows “weigh in” will be better than todays.

Day 5 – Update

November 24, 2007

Had a pretty mad day today with work. I was working until about 3:30am this morning, and have been working all day today (Saturday) too. Looks like I won’t be finished until about 8pm. Then I am going out for dinner in a seafood restaurant. Looking forward to that.

I had a pitta bread about an hour ago. I had it with cheese, ham and cucumber. It was very nice. Again, haven’t had ay goodies today. And I have cut out the poinless snacks. In the past if I was working until 2 or 3 am, I would go to the fridge and grab a bar of chocolate or some kind of snack. But last night, nothing, and I still felt great.

Day 5 – Another Power Plate workout

November 24, 2007

Another day, another Power Plate workout. I did a good workout on the power plate this morning.

Started off with hamstring stretch, followed by squats, lunges, calfs, abdominal crunch, deep squat, shoulder press, biceps curl and finally push ups. In total, ten minutes of exercise and I feel a bit tired!

This morning I had a change of breakfast, and had some scrambled eggs in a pita bread. That’s it for now!

Day 5

94.9

I have just had my morning “weigh in” and I am back on track. Down .4 kgs since yesterday. Woo Hoo! That has cheered me up. I was up late last night working, and usually in that situation I would have raided the fridge and grabbed some chocolate bars, or some ice cream, but I kept workng until about 3am and didn’t even go near the fridge, or feel hungry. Balanced diets are awesome!

Day 4 – Update

November 24, 2007

Today got off to a bad start. I was expecting a good loss today, but I ended up being up .1kgs. I was a bit down this morning, but in the end I had a good day. I was out with a customer for lunch, and I had a chicken caesar salad. I enjoyed it. Then this evening I had some fish, some potatoes and some vegetables. I also ate half a muffin for desert. A little naughty, but this is not strictly a diet, more a move towards healthier eating and reducing the amount of junk that I was eating.

It is much easier to stick to a strict eating plan, and to eat the regular meals when I am working from home. Luckily, I work from home most days.

Day 4

95.3

I have had my first set back! Yesterday I was 95.2. I stuck to my healthy eating. I did a workout on the Power Plate, and I have gone up .1kgs. I suppose this could be muscle gain, bit I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I got on the scales this morning. I am sure it is just a tempoary set back. I am off to meet some customers this morning, so I wont be updating again until this evening.

Day 3 – More Power Plate

This afternoon I was sitting in my home office/gym room. The Power Plate was behind me, and after getting a bit frustrated with some customers, I decided to take a five minute break and do some more “Power Plating”.

I did some upper body work. Just three exercises; Bicep Curl, Press Up and Shoulder Press. Five minutes later I felt much better and went back to work.

For dinner, I had another chicken stir fry. It was good. Not as nice as yesterdays, but ok.

Tomorrow I have to visit some customers, and then go out for a dinner with some colleagues, so my eating pattern will change. I will try to stick to my new eating regime as much as possible, but I think Saturdays “weigh in” may be my first stumbling block. Hopefully not though!

Day 3 – First Power Plate Workout

My first power plate workout is complete, and I must say I am impressed. I was a little skeptical after the first couple of exercises, but after I did the abdominal crunch I broke into a sweat.

Here are the exercies I did:

  • Hamstring Stretch
  • Calf Stretch, 1 minute on each leg
  • Squat
  • Lunges, 1 minute on each leg
  • Caves
  • Abdominal Crunch
  • Lower Abs
  • Deep Squat
  • Hamstring Massage, 1 minute on each leg

Twelve minutes of exercises, spread over about 35 minutes because I took a couple of phone calls in between. And I drank two litres of water during it!

Tomorrow I am going to work on arms and upper body. Now it is time for a snack!

95.2kgs

Another day, another weigh in. This morning, I am down another .2kgs, to 95.2. I was hoping for a little more, but I think I have to be happy with that, considering it was based purely on a change in diet.

Last night I watched the Power Plate DVD and today I am going to do my first Power Plate workout. I am going to meet the people at Power Plate to work out a training schedule later in the week, but for now I am just going to do 10 exercises, each for one minute each. I haven’t decided which exercies yet, but as soon as I do, I will pop them up here.
