Day 87 – Update

February 14, 2008

Instead of going for a walk at lunch time I decided to do a BodyPump class. Wow, I am exhausted. I haven’t done BodyPump for about six months, but it was incredible. I am exhausted! The heaviest I lifted was 12kgs, but even still I am worn out.

When I used to do BodyPump regularly I would be lifting 25kgs for some of the tracks, but today 12kgs and I was done!

BodyPump is awesome. According to their site you can burn upto 600 calories in a single class. I don’t know how many calories I burned in the class, but it was a lot. I am much more tired than I would be after going for a walk.

84.9kgs

mmmm …. this morning I did my weigh in and I was up 0.3kgs. Bit disappointed. I had a chicken kiev for dinner yesterday and some roast potatoes, so I assume this must be related to my little weight gain this morning.

I did a good workout on the power plate last night too. The first proper work out for about a week. I enjoyed it.

This morning I went for a walk in the local park. I walked for 39 minutes, and according to my ipod I only did a little over 3kms. I thought I did about 5kms, and most of it was on the grass, so maybe the ipod was wrong?

Day 81 – Update

February 8, 2008

I went for a jog / walk at lunch time today. I did my normal route, but I decided to run the 1st kilometre, and walk the second. I did the first one in 4 minutes 40 seconds, and walked the second in 11 minutes 37 seconds. I felt great when I got home.

I am heading out for dinner now, and I am going to go to the movies. Have to make sure I don’t eat any bad stuff.

Day 79

Today I am up half a kilo! I am assuming that it is because I ate late last night. Fingers crossed!

Yesterday was a bit of a weird day and I did eat very late. One thing that I say yesterday which I thought was really cool was at Liverpool Airport last night. They had a mini gym at the airport and I did a thirty minute workout there!

I am going to get back into my walking today, and fingers crossed, today will just be a blip!

Day 74

84.9kgs

Today I am down 0.5kgs. This on top of the fact that I lost 0.3kgs yesterday makes me quite happy. I definitely think the walking is playing a major part. And with my Nike + it is very good for challenging myself.

I am going to go for a lunch time walk again today. I am going to stick with the 2.25km route. My goal is to try to reduce the time but not by too much. My best so far with a walk / occasional jog is 18 minutes. Not great I know, but my goal at the moment is weight loss, and I have been told that I should not be trying to do it as fast as I can, but rather keep my heart rate between 60% and 70% of the maximum. Next week I might try to do it as quick as I can running, just to get a feel for where I am now.

Tomorrow I am off to London, so I will have an early start. 6am flight! Today I am working from home, so healthy eating will definitely not be a problem.

Day 72 – Update

January 30, 2008

I went out for a walk at lunch time to use my new Nike Plus device. I walked for 21 minutes 50 seconds and completed 2.22km. According to the ipod I used up 195 calories.

This evening I went for another walk / jog. This time I covered 3.04kms in 25 minutes and 51 seconds. And this time I burned 267 calories. I wonder if the Nike Plus device is a novelty which wares off quickly or will I still be really interested in it in a couple of weeks time!

Day 72

85.7kgs

Up 0.2kgs today. I would be a bit disappointed if I didn’t know what it happened, but I do! Yesterday I had a tough day at work and I was really tired last night. I was going to go for a walk, but instead I decided to have a cup of hot chocolate (made with milk) and a scone, and sat in front of the TV rather than going for my walk. So, I cant be too surprised that I am 0.2kgs up! I also did my weigh in about an hour earlier than I normally would as I had to go out to a meeting early this morning. So fingers crossed I will be back on track in the morning.

I am going to go for a quick walk in a few minutes to make up for last night. I have set myself a few goals on the Nike + site and I am going to upload all of my walks onto it. When there are more walks on display and it starts to look interesting I will put a link from the blog to my Nike + page.

Day 70 – Update

January 29, 2008

Just back from my evening walk. I used my Nike + device with my new ipod nano for the first time today. I was a bit disappointed to see that I only walked 2.25 kms and it took me 30 minutes. That is an average of only 4.5km/h! I was a bit shocked.

I had a lovely dinner today; Salmon with pasta. An odd combination, but it was pretty awesome!

Day 62 – Update

January 20, 2008

Just back from my evening walk. I was really tired going out, but I managed to do it anyway. It took a little longer than normal, but I am really happy that I went for the walk.

I went out for dinner this afternoon and I had sirloin steak. It was incredible. The only negative thing about the meal was that it came with a portion of fries, and I wasn’t able to say no! Based on that, I think I may be up a little tomorrow at my weigh in. If I am, then it means I will get to celebrate hitting the 10kg mark again!

Day 60 – Update

January 18, 2008

Just back from my evening walk. I did the normal distance, but I did it a little quicker today. I was about three minutes faster. Feeling great now. Going to grab a quick shower and then it’s off to bed for me!
