Day 31 Update

December 20, 2007

Whe you buy a Power Plate you can “avail of unlimited training at their National Training Centre”. Today I went for my first training session. I have been using the Power Plate for four weeks now, but I wanted to learn how to get the most out of the Power Plate.

I met with my instructor at 11am and we went into a private studio which had a Power Plate in it. He asked me what I was looking to achieve and a few other questions. It was all very relaxed. We then went through each of the exercises on the Power Plate poster, and he showed me how I can modify the exercises to make them more intense and more effective. I really learned a lot.

I left the studio 90 minutes later and now have a plan for the next few months on how I am going to use the Power Plate. I was exhausted, because I had done more than you would usually do in a workout. It was an extremely worthwhile session.

While the Power Plate isn’t cheap, this level of support is really incredible. You essentially have unlimited access to a Personal Trainer to advise on the user of the Power Plate and access to their studio, for free!  Two thumbs up for Power Plate!

Day 31

December 20, 2007

89.4kgs

Well I lost 0.4kgs since yesterday and I have now lost 7kgs in total in 31 days. I am getting very close to the 14 stone mark which will be another milestone for me.

I ate some cod and fresh vegtables (carrots and green beans) for dinner yesterday. The same dinner I had the previous day. Fortunately I don’t really get bored eating similar meals, but saying that, I am going to have something different for dinner this evening. Don’t know what though!

I am going to the Power Plate studio today to get a workout plan from the professionals. When you buy a power plate you are entitled to free trips to their studio. They will put together a training plan for me. I am looking forward to this, because up until now I hae been using the machine “my” way, rather than in a more structured way.

Day 29

December 18, 2007

89.5kgs

The fifth week of my challenge has started well. I have droped 0.6kgs since yesterday, and I have now smashed through 90kgs! It now means I only have 9.5kgs to go.

I am really happy with the progress so far. When I get closer to my goal I am going to go clothes shopping and treat myself. I think by the time the January sales start I should be ready to go!

I am going to go for a walk today, a little further than I have been going. Up until now I have been walking for 30 – 35 minutes. Today I am going to increase it to 45 minutes. I am also going to do a workout on the Power Plate.

Day 28

December 17, 2007

90.1kgs

Four weeks now completed in my challenge, an I have nearly broken through 90kgs. Down half a kilo since yesterday. This week has been my most successful. I have lost 2kgs this week. In total in the 28 days so far, I have lost 6.3kgs, petty much 1 stone!

I have noticed that my flexibility has also improved. Credit here really has to go to the power plate. I did a test yesterday. I tried to touch my toes, and fell about two inches short. Then I did a 60 second hamstring stretch, and after that, I could wrap my fingers underneath my toes! How cool is that!

Day 26

December 15, 2007

90.5kgs

I did a good power plate workout last night and it seems to have paid off. I am down another 0.2kgs. I have really started to notice the difference. My clothes are much looser, and when I look in the mirror I can really see a difference. Quite a few people have also commented about it to me.

I am really looking forward to breaking through the 90kg mark. It is just a matter of days now I hope.

This evening I am going to cook a chicken stir fry.

Day 17 – Update

December 6, 2007

I did a good workout on the Power Plate this morning. I am really starting to see results, specifically in my upper body. My shoulders and upper arms appear more defined. It could be diet related, but again, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the Power Plate.

I did another test on the Power Plate today. I tried to touch my toes while standing up, and I fell about four inches short. I then did a hamstring stretch on the Power Plate and immediately afterwards was able to put my fingers completey under my toes! It was pretty cool. I am sure if I did a few hamstring stretches normally it would have had similar effects, but the Power Plate rocks!

Day 16

December 5, 2007

92.5kgs

Another weigh in, another .1kg. Down to 92.5kgs. I have been working pretty mad hours recently, and even though I have been sticking to my healthy eating, I have had a very sedentry lifestyle for the last could of weks.  have been working 15 and 16 hour days, and then just going to sleep.

Today I will do another Power Plate workout. It really does take a lot of energy out of me. Then I am out to meet a customer after lunch.

Day 15

December 4, 2007

92.6kgs

Just starting week three, and I have had another positive weigh in. 92.6kgs. I am nearly down 4kgs in just over two weeks. Not too shabby! Yesterday I ate some fish for dinner, but it was in batter. I had planned on eating chicken, but when I took it out o the fridge it didn’t look the best, so it went in the bin.

Today will be another Power Plate workout day. I am really looking forward to my Power Plate workout. It is so quick and easy to get into, compared to going to the gym, which is a much longer process. The fact that I can have a complete workout in about 15 minutes is just awesome! I still don’t know for sure if the Power Plate is assisting in my weight loss, compared to just the healthy eating, but I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Day 14

December 3, 2007

92.8kgs

Another good “weigh in”. I am down another .2kgs. That is the end of my second week, and I am on track. In week 1, I lost 1.7kgs, and in week 2, I lost 1.9kgs.  A total of 3.6kgs in two weeks. Not too bad.

If I continue at this rate, I should be below 90kgs by Christmas. That would be excellent. But at the moment, my next milestone is 92kgs. That is just less than 14.5 stone.

I did a 15 minute workout on the power plate last night and I felt really good after it.

Again, I am working from home today, so I will be sticking to my healthy eating plan again.

Day 10 – Update

November 29, 2007

Today I have eaten healthily. I had my usual bran flakes for breakfast with some berries on top. Then at 11am I have a toasted wholemeal pita bread with some ham and lettuce. I went out to the shops at lunch. I had intended to walk, but I had to go to the bank to lodge a cheque, so I drove. I will make up for this later by walking to the local shop this evening.

At the shops I bought a few packs of sandwich filler. One tuna and sweetcorn, one chicken and bacon, and one chicken and stuffing. They are awesome!

I spent about 10 minutes on the power plate today too. Every time I have a minute free I turn around and jump on. It is excellent. Well, back to work now.
