Day 91

February 18, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.5kgs

Another week complete! Today I am down 0.2kgs which means this week I have lost 0.1kgs overall. I am happy that I haven’t had a “negative” week. It would have been disappointing if I had been up on last weeks weight.

Yesterday at the family dinner, there was a lot of finger food first up. I am a huge fan of cocktail sausages and I did overdo it a little on these, but then I was good for the rest. There was a wide variety of food and it was awesome (and healthy)!

I have now ten more days to go, and while I am delighted with the 11.9kgs that I have lost, I would like to lose at least another 2kgs in the coming 10 days. I am going to increase the frequency of my weights sessions and also increase the amount of walking / jogging that I do.

Day 90

February 17, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.7kgs

Up 0.1kg today. I went out for a walk last night. I did a leisurely 2km, soI am a bit disappointed that I am up, but I suppose thats the way it goes. I am going out for a family dinner today, but we will be eating early. If I don’t lose 0.2kgs or more before tomorrow this could be my first negative week!

Day 89

February 16, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.6kgs

Ok, I am up 0.2kgs today, but I went out for dinner last night and ate late, so I expected this. I also ate fries with dinner too which is bad, but I really wanted them!

Yesterday I really felt the affects of the BodyPump class on Thursday, and I can still feel it now. My triceps, quads and pecs are still sore! I had hoped to do another BodyPump class today, but I am still quite sore. I will see how I am after lunch and then make a decision.

Day 88

February 15, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.4kgs

Wow! BodyPump is awesome! I have been in a bit of a lull recently and found it hard to shift the weight. After yesterdays BodyPump class I am down 0.3kgs today. I have lost 0.3kgs in a day recently, but last night I was out for dinner and I had french fries with my dinner. Normally when I do this I either remain static or put on weight. Amazingly, today I am down 0.3kgs!

I can only put it down to BodyPump. I would love to do another class today, but I have been told that you should have at least one rest day between BodyPump classes to allow your musclses to recover. Tomorrow I will definitely do another BodyPump class.

I can feel a few aches and pains today too, especially in my quads and shoulders. But I suppose, “no pain, no gain!”.

Today I am out with a customer for lunch, so I have to be good. I have 13 more weigh ins, and I want to lose at least 1.9kgs to get to my secondary target. That will leave me 2.5kgs away from my original target, on the right road to hit my target and very happy!

Day 87 – Update

February 14, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

Instead of going for a walk at lunch time I decided to do a BodyPump class. Wow, I am exhausted. I haven’t done BodyPump for about six months, but it was incredible. I am exhausted! The heaviest I lifted was 12kgs, but even still I am worn out.

When I used to do BodyPump regularly I would be lifting 25kgs for some of the tracks, but today 12kgs and I was done!

BodyPump is awesome. According to their site you can burn upto 600 calories in a single class. I don’t know how many calories I burned in the class, but it was a lot. I am much more tired than I would be after going for a walk.

Day 87

February 14, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.7kgs

I had some friends over for dinner last night and we ate late (and we had a cheesecake for desert) so I was expecting to have an increase today, but I have remained the same. I am quite surprised at this, but happy.

I haven’t done any walking for the past few days, and I really have to get back into the habbit of it. I am going out for dinner this evening again, but I will be good during the day so fingers crossed I may drop a little by tomorrow. I am going to go for a lunch time walk, because I have a meeting this evening so my evening walk will be out the window.

It looks certain now that I will not reach my original target in the the current time frame. I am a bit disappointed at this, but I am definitely on target to reach it, it will just take a little longer. I have made some huge changes to my diet and I am really happy with that.

I have decided to create a new short term goal. I want to hit 82.5kgs by the 28th February. So, I have 14 days to lose 2.2kgs.

Day 86

February 13, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.7kgs

Down 0.2kgs this morning. Getting there! I am working from home again today, so I am going to head out for a walk at lunchtime.

I was out with a customer yesterday who I hadn’t seen since before I started my challenge and when I met them they immediately noticed my weight loss. They couldn’t believe the difference. It really cheered me up! I think when you see the changes gradually it doesn’t have the same impact as seeing someone after a couple of months.

Day 85

February 12, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.9kgs

This morning I am 0.3kgs up. A bit disappointed, but I didn’t go for a walk yesterday evening. Instead I went to the movies.

Ah well, I will make up for it this evening. Fingers crossed I will be down more than 0.3kgs tomorrow morning.

I am out to meet a customer this morning and going out for lunch with them, but I will be good!

Day 84

February 11, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.6kgs

A good weigh in this morning. Down 0.3kgs on yesterday, but the same weight as Saturday.

For the past nine weeks I have noticed a pattern with my weight loss. It is two weeks where I lose less than 1kg per week, followed by one week where I lose more than 1kg. And this week sticks to that pattern. This week I have lost 0.4kgs. If the pattern continues, I would expect to drop more than 1kg in the coming week.

I am going to put more of an emphasis on resistance training this week, using the Power Plate and free weights. Obviously I am still going to keep up with my walking / jogging, but I intend to put more effort into weights.

Day 83

February 10, 2008 by 100 Day Challenger

84.9kgs

mmmm …. this morning I did my weigh in and I was up 0.3kgs. Bit disappointed. I had a chicken kiev for dinner yesterday and some roast potatoes, so I assume this must be related to my little weight gain this morning.

I did a good workout on the power plate last night too. The first proper work out for about a week. I enjoyed it.

This morning I went for a walk in the local park. I walked for 39 minutes, and according to my ipod I only did a little over 3kms. I thought I did about 5kms, and most of it was on the grass, so maybe the ipod was wrong?
